Everything You Need to Know About Our New Chicken Super Scratch

Written by Green Fox | Jul 1, 2026

Green Fox is excited to announce the launch of our newest product: Chicken Super Scratch. Chicken scratch is a popular grain-based treat and enrichment activity in backyard chicken coops, but most scratch blends are made of filler ingredients with limited nutritional value. Which is why we decided to create a cleaner, more nutrient-rich chicken scratch.

Here’s everything chicken owners need to know about our new Super Scratch from its ingredients, nutritional value, how to use it, and why their coop should make the switch to Super Scratch.

What is green Fox Chicken Super Scratch?

Green Fox Super Scratch is a premium, cleaned grains blend of our Minnesota-grown and processed millet, sunflower seeds, oats, and flaxseed filling your flock’s snack time with protein, fiber, and omegas while encouraging natural foraging behavior in adult poultry birds.

what Makes Super Scratch Different from other Scratch blends?

Our Super Scratch is for poultry owners looking for a cleaner alternative to traditional scratch grains. Unlike most scratch blends, our premium blend was thoughtfully crafted with non-GMO, Minnesota-grown, cleaned grains offering owners and their birds a higher quality, nutrient-rich treat option.

where are the grains in super scratch sourced?

The millet, sunflower seeds, oats, and flaxseed used in our Chicken Super Scratch are all sourced from our family’s farm in Central Minnesota. After harvest, we process each grain and package our Super Scratch at our family-owned facility just down the road. Being our own source allows us to create the highest quality products and provide customers with real, transparent ingredients.

What Are the benefits of chicken Scratch?

Chicken scratch can be scattered in the coop, run, or pasture to encourage pecking, scratching, and foraging. This treat helps chickens, roosters, ducks, geese, and turkeys stay active and mentally engaged throughout all seasons. And a bonus of Green Fox’s Super Scratch is that it adds plant-based protein, fiber, and omegas to your birds’ daily feeding routine.

When should you feed chicken scratch?

Super Scratch can be given to chickens as an afternoon treat, during free ranging for extra activity, when training chickens to come when called, and in colder weather for mental stimulation. Super Scratch is intended to be a supplemental treat alongside complete layer or poultry feed and should be no more than 10% of birds’ total diet.

Why chicken owners love Super Scratch

Customers from backyard coop keepers to free range chicken wranglers are glad that they switched their chicken scratch treat to Green Fox Super Scratch.

“Super Scratch has become the staple for my flock that I didn't know I needed. I like that it contains a variety of grains and seeds instead of just cheap fillers, so the birds stay interested and clean up every last bit. It's a great way to encourage natural scratching behavior while spoiling my ladies with a healthy treat. My gals have always been treat lovers, but this is the first product I've used that they come running for when they see me bring it out of the shed.” – Michael M.

Super Scratch’s clean, non-GMO grains make supporting your poultry’s nutrition easy and intentional while encouraging more foraging activity. Because happier, healthier birds start with quality products.
